RESOURCES
Located on the Lower Level of the Students' Union Building, the SUB Meeting Centre has 12,000 square feet of meeting space available for your next function. Completed during the 2015 renovation of the building, this space is available for any student, university, or off campus group to use. Two additional rooms were added in 2018 which can also serve as banquet and reception spaces.
Cascade Room
One of our Meeting Centre's larger spaces, the Cascade Room is perfect for most mid-sized events, including lectures and receptions. This room also has the unique feature of a removable glass wall, allowing the space to be better intergrated into the lower level of SUB which is great for tradeshows or other fairs.
Orion Room
A user friendly multi-purpose space located in the lower level of SUB. Offering more privacy than the Cascade Room, the Orion Room is commonly used for guest lectures, staff information sessions, or active events like yoga and dance classes.
Kihiw Room and Cypress Room
Our two boardrooms are perfect for meetings for 4-16 people. Both are equipped with easy-to-use projector technology.
Marigold and Juniper Room
Two smaller multi-purpose spaces located in the Meeting Centre, perfect for larger meetings or small lectures.
Bill Smith Room
Our largest board room is located away from the action of SUB on the 6th floor, and is often booked for governance meetings.
Caribou Room
A versatile board room with movable furniture, this room is located on the lower level of SUB, but outside of the Meeting Centre. Works great as a volunteer or conference administration room.

Our meeting rooms are consistently booked ahead of time and at the beginning of block bookings periods, please expect limited availability at peak times if bookings were not made in advance.
Free bookings are available for registered student groups, Dean of Students, and DFUs. Please visit this link to view a list of qualified free booking departments. Free bookings are as-is basis bookings. No tech support, furniture/room layouts, or additional requests will be provided.
Paid bookings come at a cost, but are eligible to receive mic rentals, podium rentals, tech assistance, and room layouts.
Paid bookings can be made up to 13 months in advance.
Free bookings can be made within the seasonal block period.

Yes. You are responsible for bringing your own laptop, HDMI cable, and any adaptors needed in order to use the projection or audio.
Yes. The Horowitz is happy to provide catering options for all bookings. Please inquire at the time of booking.
External catering is generally not permitted in our meeting centre, however we assess these requests on a case-by-case basis. Please inquire at the time of booking.
The Horowitz is able to provide advanced technical support and conferencing services. This requires 10 business days notice at the minimum.
Yes. Tables and chairs are available in a vareity of formats. Layouts for you booking will be confirmed at time of booking.
Note that free bookings will be as-is, rooms come with a standard furniture layout.
Yes, liquor service is available in all meeting rooms. Please contact us for more information.
The room will be opened for the requested start time. If extra time for setup is required, please include it in your booking time request.
Paid bookings can be cancelled with no penalty with 9 days or greater notice. No refunds or transfers will be given with less than 9 days business notice.
Free Bookings: Cancellations or no shows within 24 hours of the booking will be recorded. 5 infractions in an academic term will result in the suspension of free booking privileges.
No, on-campus rates and free bookings are not available for groups booking on behalf of others.

Free bookings are available for registered student groups, faculty and departmental groups, Dean of Students, and many other University groups, up to a maximum of two bookings per week. Free bookings are as-is basis bookings; providing no tech support, furniture/room layouts, or additional requests. Paid bookings come at a cost, but are eligible for equipment rentals, tech support and a variety of room layouts. Paid bookings can be cancelled up to 7 days from the booking without penalty.
Recurring block booking availabilities are available, running from April 1st to August 15th, August 1st to December 15th, December 1st to April 15th.
